| The Susquehanna Township Fire Marshal’s office is located in the Public Safety Building to the rear of the Municipal Building. This office serves the
township citizens and transients as it pertains to the fire and life safety codes adopted by Susquehanna Township and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We also investigate the cause and origin of fires within
Susquehanna Township. The Fire Marshal’s Office also leads the Township’s Public Safety Committee. This Committee is composed of Police Department, Emergency Management,
Emergency Medical Services, Township Fire Company, and Township Commissioner representatives.
Three independent fire companies serve Susquehanna Township. They are
Edgemont – Company 31;
Progress –
Company 32;
Rescue –Company 37.
These three fire companies serve our community professionally in all fire and rescue incidents. All three fire companies are 100% volunteer. Susquehanna Township does provide; through a
municipal fire tax, monies toward their operational budget and insurance. This however, only covers a percent of their annual operating cost. PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR UNPAID
PROFESSIONALS. These men and women save taxpayers several thousands of dollars without compromising our safety or their skills.
