The Health Board Minutes from the May 15, 2008 were approved by Dr. Mark
Cohen and seconded by Richard Bronstein.
OLD BUSINESS FOR THE HEALTH BOARD MEETING INCLUDED:
There was more discussion about the Posting of Inspections on the
Website of the township. Solicitor Foreman offered his perspective from
the legal standpoint that the township is liable for what is placed on
the website and how long it stays on the website when a violation has
been corrected. If a violation exists and is posted on the website and
then a follow-up inspection has occurred then the website needs to be
changed. There is concern over time management of getting that done
routinely to make sure that occurs.
Lynn Roche had a meeting with Cork Shunk from CS Graphx about posting of
the inspections on the township website. He is coming up with a program
where I can log into and type in the restaurant and the results of the
inspection and then update if needed after a return follow-up is
necessary. He will be attended the next Health Board meeting in
September.
Lynn’s Report stated that there have been many dog bites in the
township, (5) within a 6 week period and that all of the dogs were
vaccinated and a home quarantine was allowed.
Discussion occurred also over the establishments which have failed over
the last month: Gabriella’s for a routine inspection, Mailroom Munchies
failed the second follow-up, and Great Wall Restaurant failed on their
Routine Inspection.
NEW BUSINESS BEFORE THE HEALTH BOARD INCLUDED:
A discussion occurred over a fryer grease back-up that occurred over at
Dauphin Plaza when an establishment poured French fryer oil down into
the storm drain. This is on private property and the storm drain needed
to be cleaned. Dauphin Associates who owns the plaza contracted with
Associated Products to have the material removed.
The board was also informed of a chemical leak that occurred over in
Paxton Crossing. The leak came from a milk jug that contained a combo of
oil and gas mixture common in weed wackers and was stored in an outside
shed. The oil and gas started eating through the plastic causing the
mixture to drip and drip creating an odor of gas. The jug was removed
which avoided a situation that could have been very dangerous.
Richard Bronstrin brought up about several properties in the township
which need to looked at for possible violations within the township.
Lynn Roche will check into these properties and take the appropriate
action.
ADJOURNMENT: The motion for adjournment was entertained by Richard
Bronstein. and seconded by Dr. Mark Cohen at 12:35p.m. The meeting was
adjourned.
The next Health Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, September
18, 2008 at Noon.
